Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Cook.
Adam, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I love to be inspired and painting, it’s always been my love and obsession, so through that comes all of these wonderful opportunities.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely, anything that you’re on fire for and that inspired you will have its challenges. So for me, it was first starting out figuring where and how I would get supplies to create.
Sometimes, I would be lucky to find cheap paint at garage sales, etc. and then, find doors and wooden panels on the side of the road in my neighborhood years ago. Even when running out of “canvas,” I could trade a pairing to a friend with an electric saw to cut an old door in half so I could have two “canvases.”
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I happily do custom paintings for a variety of clients and collectors as well as have local and out of state gallery shows.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Definitely my parents have always been in my corner when it’s come to anything that I was inspired by or interested in.
My high school art teachers were immensely supportive as well. They understood how much the arts meant to me.
Certainly my friends whom I’m forever grateful for have always had my back and have given me feedback as well and just endless support.
