Meet Aimee Cassinelli of Peak Pediatric Dentistry in Sandy Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Cassinelli.

Aimee, please share your story with us.
After practicing in other people’s practices for more than 15 years, I decided it was time to launch a pediatric dental practice unique to Atlanta. After all those years in practice, I knew exactly what I wanted to offer my patients. When you enter the office, you are greeted with cool colors, high ceilings, contemporary, kid-friendly decor. We have an iPad station in the waiting room and televisions with headphones for entertainment above each chair in our treatment area.

We love our patients and affectionately refer to them as our “Peak Pals”! Getting to know the families in my practice is the most rewarding part of my job. Watching babies become siblings, and children grow to be teens knowing we are impacting their dental health and creating good lifelong dental habits is unique to my industry.

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Bumps in the road? You bet! After practicing pediatric dentistry for more than 15 years for others, taking on my own business proved to be the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced. As a new business owner and mother, learning to juggle work and home has proven difficult. Transitioning from office to kid time at home has been tricky. In 2018, my resolution is to leave work at work! After a year in business, I have an amazing staff to help with day to day business. I have learned so much this first year about running the business and have placed systems in place to ensure all aspects of the business are running smoothly.

What are you most proud of as a company?
I am most proud of what our patients say about us! 95% of our patients come to our practice through word of mouth. Whether it is a neighbor, friend, relative, physician, dentist, or online mom exchange, word of mouth is our greatest compliment. Nothing satisfies me more than when a family leaves my office and

tell others about their amazing experience at Peak. Creating positive dental experiences that can impact a child for a lifetime is what makes me tick!

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc.

Providing individualized, comprehensive pediatric dentistry is the foundation of our practice. I have dedicated my career to providing the highest quality pediatric dental care. No child is too young to be seen in our practice-we offer the first birthday examination ‘complimentary’ if you come to visit before 15 months of age!

At Peak, we see one family at a time. Our patients appreciate that we only see one family at a time. Our staff is totally focused on your child and spends extra time to ensure your comfort and dental needs are being met

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I was raised by a dentist-my father is a practicing cosmetic dentist in Pittsburgh! I have fond childhood memories of playing in my father’s dental office as a young child. My siblings would play hide and seek in my father’s dental office and squirt the water from the operatory at each other. We would make molds from impression material, and go for rides in the dental chairs.

As a teenager, I often attended NFL Penguin Hockey games with my father. He was the team dentist and would handle any dental trauma during the games. This is where my passion for treating dental trauma began. I am proud to say that treatment of dental trauma is still an integral part of my practice today. As a college student, I spent summers learning to be a dental assistant and working in my father’s dental lab.

Today, I enjoy nothing more than bringing my children to the office to explore, play, and hopefully learn to love dentistry the way I do!
