Meet AJ Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to AJ Thomas.

Hi AJ, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling when I was five years old. I was introduced to modeling by my parents and throughout the years I have grown a lot as a person through modeling. I have been in over 30 photoshoots with many different photographers as well as recently being published Gladys Magazine. I have also been in a few short films as an extra as well as a co-star. I am currently 14 years old and will be attending Madison Early College High School which is in my hometown. I am currently represented by Ursula Wiedmann Models in Atlanta, Georgia. I am looking forward to developing my skills as a model and student. In addition, I have been dancing at Dimensions Studio in my hometown since I was two. I am on their competitive dance team where we compete against other dance studios in the region. In the future, I hope to continue to model and go to college to study psychology.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the modeling business there is a lot of rejection and many ups and downs but what I have learned is to go with the flow and to focus on myself and what I can control. At the end of the day, all I can do is to continue to do my part and trust the process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a model, dancer, and actress. I enjoy all three of these activities. I think across the board of all these activities what sets me apart is my attention to detail. The thing I am most proud of is my persistence as well as my ability to take direction well and being open to criticism and feedback.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I strongly believe in the saying you either win or you learn. Risks, while not always successful are essential for growth in all aspects of life. With that in mind, I do think it is necessary to weigh all your options and make sure any risks you take have been thought through, and that you are prepared for any situation that may come of them.
