Today we’d like to introduce you to Ajah Smith.
Hi Ajah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Before I started taking videography and photography serious, my dream was to be a backup dancer for Chris Brown. Dance was my life, in and out of studios, rehearsals, auditions, tours, etc. I was determined that I’ll be on stage dancing with him one day. But as I grew with dance and became a choreographer, the new age of social media being your resume made videos and content important. I’ve had a couple of good videos but nothing came out the way I envisioned it. And every videographer who was filming at the time were overpriced, took weeks to get back footage and they didn’t have the artistic eye. So I picked up a camera and decided to start filming.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being an artist and creative is never easy. I’ve had to deal with the internal battle of choosing what to do with my life and if I made the right choice. My biggest struggle was deciding between continuing to be a professional dancer or starting a video media business. I took a leap of faith and decided not to return to the professional dance company I was a part of and move back to Atlanta to take videography more serious. And I haven’t looked back since.
We’ve been impressed with Acesentials Media Production, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
