Meet Alessio Lacco of Atlanta Pizza Truck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alessio Lacco.

Hi Alessio, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We started our business at the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic when in March 2020 me and wife Sofia were laid off from work. So we decided to go around neighbors and cook Neapolitan pizzas there. The voice rapidly spread and every weekend we were in a different part of town. Then we started to do some Private parties, weddings, corporate events, and even Movie Productions.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Demand grew very fast and we struggled to keep up for the first couple of months. We found challenging to find dedicated workers and to rent a commercial kitchen for our prep and storage. But eventually, we were able to find an amazing team and a great kitchen and storage space. The road wasn’t smooth but we were ready for the challenge.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Atlanta pizza truck?
We are the first Certified Neapolitan Pizza Truck in the world. We received our certification after so many years of talking with the Italian Organization AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana). Other than unique Wood fire pizzas we also cater Delicious Pastas, Salads, my Nonna Recipes Meatballs, desserts, Gelato and Coffee. We will make your event unforgettable.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We love the outdoor places, when not making pizzas we are always looking for fun and outdoor activities and Georgia has a lot to offer. People are friendly and you can find so many cultures all around ATL.

My least favorite is the traffic.
