Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Love.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is nothing short of a modern day miracle and testimony. I began running track at the age of twelve with exercise-induced asthma. What started out as a desire to be a part of a team, ending up being a life-changing experience. With practice, great coaches and family support, I received multiple scholarship offers by my junior year of high school. I signed a full-ride scholarship to Murray State University. There, I am considered a premier alum after earning 3x All-America Honors, 9x Pepsi Athlete of the Year, competing in the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.
After competing professionally for seven years, I made the decision to retire and explore more ways to grow my platform and motivate with love. Shortly after, I was inducted into the 2019 Hall of Fame. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for helping others and wanting to make the world a better place. My humble upbringing, hard work and faith is what I attribute my success to.
Now, I am a former professional athlete, publisher author, mentor, philanthropist and motivational speaker.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
To be honest, it has not been a smooth ride. From running track with asthma, literally praying that I make it to the finish line each time. Overcoming adversity as a child, attending a small D1 university, injuries on the track, relocating more than 13 times to train in different states and cities, being away from my family and the list continues. The struggle I faced most was the constant pressure of wanting my future to be better than my past.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I empower, I educate, I motivate and build people up. I am a motivational speaker and mentor. I specialize in resilience. My belief is this: If I can do it, you can too. I am known for pushing people toward their purpose and helping others heal from what was meant to break them. I am most proud of beating the odds. It is proof that you can rewrite your story.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me most is leaving a legacy for my child/children and living for Christ. None of this would have been possible without my faith in God. I want my children to look up one day and say, “My mom was a boss, she made no excuses and got it done.” I want my life to be proof that your past does not have to dictate your future.
