Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Marie.
Hi Alyssa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out as a lash tech four years ago come December. I was not happy working for others I always felt I should be doing more. I left my pharmacy job in December 2018 and took my last check to take a lash class. Best decision I ever made!!! I haven’t looked back since. I came up with the name iLash Icon because of course I do lashes and Icon was just like a given because these lashes are going to be iconic. I moved from Cleveland, Ohio October 2020 to Macon, GA and immediately started building my clientele as well as traveling back and forth to Ohio. I soon started working in Buckhead building clientele there as well. It’s been a very interesting journey for me but I wouldn’t change it for nothing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been very bumpy. There has been times I have wanted to give up, I’ve cried and canceled clients but I always remind myself that I made it this far for a reason and I have a greater purpose. If I gave up what would I do exactly? I can’t see myself doing anything else.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in Volume lashes. I’m known for it. Big dramatic lashes, lol. I like stepping outside the box as well as doing different things. I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I don’t look at others as competition I stay in my own lane and do my own thing and give props to everyone.
Any big plans?
My plans are to open up a lash supply store kind of like a beauty supply store but for lashes. Really soon!
