Amanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my small business selling Mink lashes and sunglasses almost two years ago in Montgomery, Alabama. It’s been a fun journey on the way; I’ve met a lot of amazing people during the process. I have done vendor events and private parties. I moved to Georgia and expanding my business here. At the beginning, it was a struggle trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t but it’s better than ever now!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Obstacles like being the only one you can count on, so not only do you have to do everything yourself, you still have a life too. So between work, school, and social events, it’s been really hard go constantly post on Social media and promote. During the pandemic, a lot of things stopped shipping to the United States, which put a hold on many products. Sometimes it feels like “is this worth it?” Then you get a sign that says, “don’t give up.” It’s so rewarding even with all of the obstacles.

I specialize in affordable sunglasses and mink lashes. I also receive Eye-catching items like jewelry, clothes, shoes, and other accessories. I’m proud of how far I have came and I’ve done it all by myself. What sets me apart from most businesses, I would say, is that people feel comfortable putting in requests of what they would like to see and I’ll go get it for them. And I try to make every customer feel special regardless of the amount spent.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m constantly getting new items so it changes with the season. However, my future plans are to continue growing business and meeting new people.
