Meet Amber Parker of Qurriculum Global in Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Parker.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Amber. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
During my third year in undergrad at Georgia State, I started my first internship at Icon Studios with Loud N Klear Entertainment under the direction of Anthony Kalel and Stone and Tashia Stafford. I was brought on the team as an assistant for artist Management and digital media marketing. Being able to apply the skills and knowledge I learned while still earning my degree in Music Industry/Management is something I do not take for granted. With a team of dedicated fellow college students by my side, I developed relationships and experiences with some of the top music industry professionals in the U.S. In 2015, I shadowed James Cruz, of Cruz Control Management and manager to Sean “Diddy” Combs, during the Revolt Music Conference in Miami, Florida.

As one of the few highlights of my career, I brought that experience back to Atlanta which fostered the development of my own professional network. I continued to master my craft at networking, working with independent and celebrity recording artists and creatives around the city offering professional advice and building digital media profiles. A year after graduating from Georgia State, I met an amazingly talented international recording artist by the name of Olympia Papageorgiou. We instantly made a genuine connection and I became her go-to for almost everything in music. I was contracted to be a consultant for her indie record label, Qurriculum Global, whose platform allows students and those earning their degree to pursue careers in entertainment. Their principle is something I strongly believe in and definitely something I want to share with the world. As I move forward with Olympia and Q.G., I feel like I’ve finally created my own lane in the industry.

When I graduated in May 2017, I secured a job with Marriott International as a Guest Experience Expert for the new Renaissance Gateway hotel here in Atlanta. Now, working as a R.E.N. Meetings Expert, I’ve had the opportunity to travel quite a bit and meet people of all kinds of cultural backgrounds. Working for Marriott is great and I love my job because it allows me the opportunity to express myself in every aspect of my career. My goal is to continue to travel the world and discover a new way to merge my two passions: music and traveling.

Has it been a smooth road?
The journey has been fun, but definitely not easy! The entertainment industry is not an easy one to navigate, so struggles include finding your niche, creating your brand, and staying true to yourself. The hardest thing for me has been discovering my niche and what I’m truly good at. The trail & error method has helped but it can be difficult when you’ve set certain goals and standards for yourself. The great thing is I think I’ve finally found my niche, and it’s a great feeling! I do not take any of my successes for granted and I appreciate failures the same way. It’s definitely cliche, but I use my failures to navigate my road to success. I think as long as I’m aware that failures will in fact happen, I can use them as lessons to keep going.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Qurriculum Global is a record label and visual arts enterprise established to provide a platform for educated artists to showcase their talents. While we accept artists of all backgrounds, we especially target those who are in pursuit of completing a degree program. I serve as artist manager to Olympia Papageorgiou, specializing in artist development & branding and digital media marketing; I am also the lead label consultant for Qurriculum Global. We are proud that our platform allows students to be the most creative artists they can be all while pursuing a degree and growing their audience/following organically. We value the importance of succeeding in and outside of the entertainment industry. We do not limit our artists to what type of genre and/or artistry they would like to pursue. We believe in broadening our ear to new sounds and encourage our artists to do the same.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is thriving with so much life and culture! For the entertainment realm, in particular, our city has been a solid foundation for any and everyone wanting to begin and build their career. Atlanta is THE hub for entertainment, including music, fashion, and TV & film; there’s no place like it! Businesses and companies that choose to start in Atlanta open the door for growth and success that can eventually spread worldwide, which is ultimately the goal for most. Qurriculum Global stands with Atlanta because Atlanta stands with us!
