Amber, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ever since I was in high school, I knew I wanted to start my own business and it had to be in the fashion industry. I loved working retail and seeing the smiles my clients had on their face when I put their wardrobe together. When I started as a freshman at Albany State University, I kept procrastinating on starting my business. I was nervous and not sure how everything would go. June 20th, 2017 changed my life. I launched my business and instantly started getting customers and traffic into my store. I eventually started designing custom made dresses for clients attending prom, weddings, baby showers, or any type of special occasion. I stayed humble and was able to expand my business designing custom dresses.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, definitely not. Business in general can be tricky from time to time. I went through many trial and error periods but I don’t regret any of them. Had I not gone on those rough roads, I wouldn’t appreciate the blessings I have now. So enjoy the struggle. It’ll make you better in the long run.

My business Amber By Amber is a men and women’s online clothing store. We sell everything from men’s jackets and coats down to women’s shoes. We sell shades, handbags, 25 mm eyelashes, as well as hair. We specialize in custom dress designing. We have had the chance to custom design so many dresses from the past prom season of 2019. As a company, we are most proud of our ability to multitask and still assist the needs of our clients. What sets us apart from other companies is that our customer service is 24/7. Any client can reach us at any time of the day and night and still receive a response. We’re very versatile and convenient.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are really big. I would like to eventually expand from an online store to a storefront. I’m not sure where I would like to open my first store location, but that’s definitely a move for the future.
