Meet Amy Leavell Bransford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Leavell Bransford.

Hi Amy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I opened the original Aviary Beauty + Wellness on the Beltline in Old 4th Ward 12 years. In July 2021, I expanded to a second location along Georgia Avenue in Historic Summerhill, adjacent to Grant Park and the Georgia State Stadium.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely not always been smooth but I definitely think you learn the most from the bumps along the way. The further I am into being the owner of the business, the easier it is to trust the process.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When Aviary first opened its doors in 2009, it was the first Atlanta-area spa and salon to embrace product lines that were gentle on both the body and environment. But it also became revered for its friendly personnel, all of whom quickly developed into some of the city’s top, trusted talent. Allure, InStyle, American Salon, GOOP, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Magazine, The Atlantan and several other prominent media outlets have all given Aviary fierce accolades, celebrating it as a tranquil oasis in the heart of a big, bustling city. In July 2021, Aviary expanded to its second location in Historic Summerhill.

We have been given many accolades over the years and have been recognized by several local and national outlets as Best Facial in Atlanta. We are sought out for our partnership with French skincare line Biologique Recherche, who are known for being notoriously selective about who they partner with. My hairstylists are some of the city’s top talent for Balayage hair coloring, curly and textured cuts and fashion colors.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Atlanta’s cultural diversity. A walk on the Beltline and you will hear many different languages being spoken. I love that Atlanta is known for being a “city inside a forest” – we have more green space in the city than any other major city in the United States. My kids play soccer in Gwinnett County and I’m blown away at how many public parks and green spaces they have access to.
