Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Patrick.
Andrew, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The Carolyn is an indie punk trio from the outskirts of Atlanta, GA. Initially founded in the summer of 2016 as a solo project. The Carolyn continues to churn out tunes which resonate with 20-somethings in small-town suburban America. Their debut LP, “This Will Begin to Make Things Right,” is out now via 59 X Records and is available on 12” Vinyl at www.59xrecords.com. FFO: The Menzingers, Joyce Manor, The Gaslight Anthem, Rise Against, The Lawrence Arms.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not. The obvious but honest answer is COVID. In addition to pushing ourselves to write better music, we have to figure out new ways to remain active during these precarious times.
We’d love to hear more about your band.
We are a punk band that specializes in putting campy lyrics to (hopefully) catchy melodies.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We partnered with Atlanta’s Unknown Coffee Co. on a brew called “Heavy Eyes,” named after one of our songs. It will be exciting to get that out there on October 16th. If things improve next summer, we hopefully will be headed to Europe. Regardless, we are currently writing and recording new music.
