Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Roberts.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2011, I was at the turn of reaching my ten-year mark as a licensed Georgia Realtor. Not long after my ten year anniversary is when the real estate market took a turn for the worse. I soon realized that it would be difficult to go back into corporate America after working for myself for so long.
While trying to figure out my next career path, I was offered an opportunity to partner in a hair extensions line. It didn’t take long to decide after knowing my love of hair extensions as well as many of my friends and peers.
I quickly recognized how profitable this booming industry was and pleased with my choices of becoming a black business owner.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s never smooth or easy working for yourself. Sometimes you doubt yourself, your decisions, and even as far as wanting to throw in the towel.
However, in life, as the saying goes, “nothing good comes easy” is not only very cliche but has proven very true for me. Nonetheless, I’m not a quitter and I remain true to myself and always strive to be a great business owner.
In the hair industry over the years, the competition has grown exponentially.
In which case, the profits that were so easily made when I first started has definitely changed today in an oversaturated market.
However, I find when you treat your clients well and provide them with a great product, then you never lose them and the relationships made.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a hair extensions line that provides virgin hair extensions to the everyday woman. Our clientele consists of women (and men) ranging from 10 years old to 70+. We equally provide to all nationalities and proudly to our LGBT community.
Although we have provided extensions to a host of celebrities over the years from Yolanda Adams, Keisha Cole, Sanaa Lathan, Lele Lyons, Gabrielle Union, Melissa DeSousa, etc. We feel all of our clients are special and we make sure we treat them as such.
We offer custom units aka wigs, custom clip-in extensions, etc. to women that are suffering from hair loss or those simply that wish to make a fashion statement.
We take pride in assisting our clients and meeting their needs to make sure they are treated respectfully and are appreciated. We want you to have a no-pressure and great experience when shopping with us.
We realize that there are many hair companies throughout Atlanta but want you to know we appreciate you for choosing us.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Although Atlanta is an oversaturated market, there is still room for growth locally and online in the hair business. If they are starting out in this industry, I do recommend adding online shopping to reach women globally instead of focusing solely in their backyard.
