Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica George.
Angelica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m originally from Milwaukee, WI, the home of the underdogs, the overlooked talent, and the unheard voices. I’ve always been passionate about Entertainment in all aspects. My Mother has been my greatest influence. She exposed me to so much from music to film, things I love and work at everyday. The idea of giving the voiceless a voice has always been my mission.
I attended Clark Atlanta University, where I studied Mass Media Arts Radio, TV/Film. I had my own radio show and to fast forward to the present day. I now have my own podcast. My podcast is called “Ain’t No Filter.” “Ain’t No Filter” is my baby we talk about everything on the platform. I had been holding on to this podcast idea for so long and I’m so happy I was able to put it out this year. I recently received my Masters from SCAD in Film. I’m also a Producer and Director. I’m also currently managing a music artist by the name of E Maejor. So basically, I love everything entertainment. I’ve been BLESSED to work for companies like Viacom, Shea Moisture, and so many others but I still want to have my own platform, though I’ve done a lot regarding entertainment and I have accomplished numerous, of goals, I consider myself at to be at the beginning of my career still.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing has been smooth. I am a firm believer in never say never. The entertainment industry is a journey. Life is a journey. I for sure, have been tested in life whether it directly was related to a career goal or life in general. Some of the obstacles I’ve experienced is finding the right people to work with. Everyone isn’t reliable, and everyone can’t get the job done. It takes time for people to believe in you and take a chance on you. Another obstacle is being consistent. It’s hard when you’re passionate about multiple things. I think one of the biggest battles is one having fun with the content but also understanding it’s a business that you still want to profit from.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
The goal is to build Angelica Marie Media into a media company that touches every avenue of entertainment. Angelica Marie Media is built on innovation and getting the voices of the underrepresented to the forefront. We currently produce different digital original content.
We are home to a podcast called “Ain’t No Filter.” Ain’t No Filter” is a podcast that touches on a range of topics, from entertainment to the narrative of justice. The podcast was developed to educate while remaining conversational, and giving listeners some laughter in their days. We also work in the realm of music management, working with R&B artists by the name of E Maejor. E Maejor is a singer/songwriter and producer who recently dropped a project called “Care Package”. So we’re trying to touch all avenues of entertainment music, podcasting, and TV/film. What sets us apart is that we’re not afraid to do anything. We’re a layered company that refuses to give up.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The Future is bright! We plan to continue to grow Angelica Marie Media into a notable and reputable media brand. We want to continue representing the voiceless through all avenues of media. We plan on pushing out a lot of great content before this year is over.
