Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Ritch.
Anna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born in the Philippines, raised in the Pacific Island of Guam. Moved to Savannah, Georgia at the age of 14 with my mother and five other siblings. Grew up always wanting to pursue the arts, but never quite had the opportunity or resources as a child. When the Savannah Arts Academy opened up my junior year of high school, I was SO excited to finally dive in! Enrolled in EVERY theatre and dance class I could get my hands on and just knew, without a doubt, my passion was in the arts.
Shortly after high school, I moved to Los Angeles to give Hollywood a shot, unfortunately (or fortunately) couldn’t get arrested at the time! Which, in hindsight, I believe was exactly what needed to happen … life is seemingly always on time. Three years (and zero jobs) into Los Angeles, my now husband and I started a family and moved to Atlanta.
Unbeknownst to me, the Atlanta acting market was one of the fastest growing Film/TV markets and I almost immediately started working! Picked up a professional camera for literally the first time ever, thinking it would be nice to do some work behind the lens also. Started as a children’s photographer (being a new mother lent the best subject ever, my cutie son!) then quickly transitioned to shooting actor’s headshots. I love working with actors. I tell everyone we are the “same kind of weird.” 🙂
TEN years later, I am so grateful to say I am a full-time artist, mother, and wife living here in the awesome, bustling city of Atlanta.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Balancing all the demands of parenting, working full time and having some sort of semblance of a social life. 🙂
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Anna Ritch Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I shoot portraits, primarily actor headshots. When I decided to take on photography, I knew, without a doubt, working with people was it for me. Starting out (and continuing to be) an actor has given me probably the best insight into how to help my clients most relax into a session, yielding the most authentic headshots. My goals are always to capture people exactly how they are.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I love photography … it’s been one of the biggest, most unexpected blessings that I never really set out to pursue — it was sort of born out of new beginnings. I hope to continue on the same path, working with other actors to help achieve their dreams.

I took a class from Brian Beegle yesterday and you were highly recommended for head shots … I am after commercial and theater work. My agent is Evan Flading and she’s anxious for me to get new headshots as soon as possible. I had an audition last week and the auditor said “you look 20 years older than your headshot” (which was taken only 2 years ago … OUCH. I want to look my age without scaring anyone!!
