Meet Anthony E Tuggle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony E Tuggle.

Anthony, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a 20-year kidney transplant recipient and an Authentic and Servant Leader that has dedicated his life towards creating winning teams, developing others to be great and making a difference in the community.

I was recently announced as Chairman-elect of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF).

I’m a servant leader who is very passionate about making a difference in our community and changing people’s lives. This role as NKF Chairman affords me an opportunity to continue to fight to find a cure for kidney disease and, ultimately, one day we will live in a world free from this disease.

Has it been a smooth road?
I wrote a book “I’m Better not Bitter” because it was therapeutic for me. I’m not used to being vulnerable. My family, friends and colleagues normally call me “Superman.” I do not normally share my personal challenges with anyone. I spent the last twenty years not sharing with many people, my experiences with kidney disease and the fact that I had a kidney transplant. I recently shared these health challenges with close friends and colleagues over the last couple of years. This was very hard for me to share. I do not want people to feel sorry for me. I did not want people to make excuses for why I’m not successful. There are so many reasons people can come up with excuses as to why I shouldn’t be where I am today.

This book is my personal journey, motivational, inspirational, spiritual, highlighting my health challenges, business experience, and it’s my life.

All book proceeds will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My vision is to share my blueprint worldwide. As a leader, I create a culture where everyone can win, models a “find-a-way” mindset to leadership, embraces the importance of agility, and has an advantage to do great things. My brand is centered around the following: leading in the industry, authentic and servant leadership, creating winning teams and developing leaders to be the best in their business, ultimately make a difference in our community where they work and live.

“I believe deep down everyone wants to make some type of difference in the world. Hope allows us to trust the process and people. Hope means you are capable of having a positive outlook on your current situation.”

“I want to lead people through the storm. I do not give up. I’m relentless and I move forward because this is what it takes to make an impact under all circumstances and situations.”

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
First of all, I love Atlanta. This city affords everyone an opportunity to be great and make a difference in the community. I’m mostly impressed by the level of diversity and inclusion across Metro Atlanta. Lastly, I do not think Atlanta gets the credit it deserves for the impact it makes in business, entertainment, music, etc. across the world.
