Today we’d like to introduce you to Asha Muhammad.
Asha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in the travel world about three years ago. I began planning trips for free practically. My god kids’ mother got me in contact with a business that helped me create my own travel agency.
The way I came up with my name is because I am a young, ambition mother of two beautiful children. I was in school full time, working full time, and a full-time mother – if that doesn’t say boss mommy, what does? I have a passion for making people’s dreams come true. Wherever their dream vacation is I strive to make it come true. Business and leisure – wherever their heart desires I try to make it happen!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been quite difficult getting my name out there. Everybody loves to travel but a lot of people don’t understand why they need them me in their life! There isn’t added on fees for my commission, it has nothing to do with that. Have you ever been stuck at the airport with a delayed flight and there is a line longer than the Red Sea to talk to an airline agent? If you have a travel agent, we can call and get you on another flight before you even get halfway through the line. There are tons of perks of having a travel agent, it’s just hard to get people to see it!
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
I am a travel agent. I specialize in all trips – all-inclusive, international trips, group trips, destination weddings, Disney trips, cruises, and much more! I am most proud how much I have grown to be in business for nine months. I have certificates in Carnival Cruise Line, Marriott, IHG, Disney, NCL, Orlando Tourism, and more. These certificates are what set me apart from others because I took time to learn about these companies in-depth to help educate my clients better.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be traveling with my mom for her job. She always took me to some pretty cool places and it helped me love traveling so much more because even though she was working she always took me to do fun things. It taught me that you can travel and work at the same time – I’m a boss mommy who came from a boss mommy!
