Meet Atlanta Model, Actress, and University Student: Veronica Mora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Mora.

Veronica, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I moved to Atlanta two years ago and I wanted to get my aspirations in order. I found a proper school to attend and started that process to enroll. At that time, I knew I was in a better city than Kansas so I dared myself to submit to a casting I had found for a TV show. I got booked for it and was surprised and happy. I continued that along with school which was hectic at times. I soon made the Deans List for the first time in my life despite my unpredictable schedule. I have done homework on sets before during down time. So the first year I had allot of first and I told myself to keep doing things you never did before. With fears aside, I unearthed my old passion into modeling and networked to get a start. So this past year 2016 I got into modeling and have met even more wonderful people. I also made the Presidents List for the first time as well. I would like to tell others that sometimes you really need to change your surroundings in order to change your life. There is no expiration for your dreams and passions. Have people in your life that inspire you to go for stars. So recently I had the opportunity to take part in a fashion show, there was when I finally walked a runway for the first time, even better because it was for a good cause. As long as decide and want to reach new heights and different things each year, do so. I would hope to stand for those with disabilities even like mine (hearing loss) that you can do anything as long as the desire is strongly there. At the end of the year 2017, I should be done with school and thereafter receive a bachelor’s degree! With everything I am currently doing, to think this all started with a dare to myself is pretty amusing!

Has it been a smooth road?
There was a bumpy road because when I was younger, those around me did not support and/or sabotaged what I wanted to do with these dreams. So the struggle was trying to get away from people like that but at the same time fear of the world. I knew I had to break the reigns and take control of my life I just didn’t know where and when for a while.

What’s your outlook for the industry over the next 5-10 years?
In the modeling world, I see that industry incorporating more diverse, different talent and not so standard/normal. The acting world, I see that increasing here in Atlanta as it has been and in time, will put Hollywood to shame! For my degree in healthcare management, I really see that industry becoming more demanded here in Atlanta. The healthcare field is ever evolving and I hope I can make a difference in that role as well as all of the roles I’ve mentioned.

What has been the primary challenge you’ve faced?
My biggest challenge was being open and social because I am so reserved! I have been that way my whole life and I wanted to change that a little bit because I wanted to take on this “go-getter” attitude and therefore pushed me to approach and be approachable.

What would you tell someone who is just starting out?
My advice as I tell others that have asked before, do your research. Do not take every opportunity there is. Have a goal and do not roam aimlessly in your passions because some things can bite you later, so when starting out, really decide who you are trying to be, what your environmental wish is. Anything that does not contribute to it in any way or make you better, disregard it. Always make sure your social circle supports you and doesn’t belittle or talk down to you or about you.
