Today we’d like to introduce you to Awilda Rivera.
Awilda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always wanted to be a lawyer, and I did everything in my power to become one. However, at 26 I had a heart scare that landed me in a hospital bed, and it changed my life forever. When I got out of the hospital, I set out to both identify what my purpose was and to actively pursue a passion-driven life.
Over the last eight years, I have developed a successful business that helps others do the same. In retrospect as a child, my desire was always to help others. I just thought I had to do that in the way that society told me to, it took me some time to realize that my ability to help people not only had great value but also that my method for helping didn’t have to look like anyone else’s method.
Today I work with clients 1-on-1 as success coach to create holistic, organic & sustainable growth strategies that create measurable results. Since I am still very much connected to the mission of helping others, I also host a FREE podcast called WIN LIFE with Awilda Rivera, just published my first book called SUCCESS MATH: A Millinnial’s Qualitative Approach, and lead international wellness trips. All of these aspects of my business are designed to facilitate personal growth and professional development.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been smooth. In fact, it was a major pothole that started me out on this journey. Experiencing a heart issue at 26 is super scary. However I am no stranger to adversity, I grew up in some of the most intense neighborhoods in NYC during the 80s & 90s. In truth after that everything else seems minor. OF course, I have experienced the Nay Sayers, haters, and people that simply don’t get why I would choose not to be a Lawyer. But, it’s important to remember that not everyone is going to understand what you’re doing or why you’re doing it, especially if it does not conform to their standards. But none one else’s opinion matters if you believe in what you are doing.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Awilda Rivera story. Tell us more about the business.
As a Success Coach, I am known for my holistic, no nonsense, intuitive and pragmatic coaching style. I am very good at helping purpose-driven individuals create measurable results through 1-on-1 success coaching. I have been able to have my clients generate consistent results that often exceed their expectation.
I am also known for my straight-talk, unedited podcast: WIN LIFE, and soon I’ll be known for my groundbreaking book: Success Math.
Part of what sets me apart from other coaches, personal growth and professional development gurus is my affinity for concrete deadlines, strategic planning, and optimal outcomes. I am all about empowering my clients, listeners, and readers to integrate the practices and tools into their lives so that they can operate at their highest level.
I am so proud of what I have been able to share inside the pages of Success Math. The framework and methodology I set out is easy to understand, practical and applicable to almost any goal. I believe it will truly change the way people both think about success and pursue it.
As a travel organizer, people love the mix of relaxation, optional reflection, and autonomy my trips offer. There is not required events or workshops, its all at will. Those who come find it so enjoyable that they have begun to travel with me yearly.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck may not be the right word. I would say Grace or Alignment would be better used here. Both have played a huge role in my life and business. As a practicing Yogi, I believe in bringing all things into alignment so that I can operate from a place of knowing and compassion as I move through the world.
These have been invaluable to me as I am someone who historically suffered from anxiety and PTSD. It used to be very easy for me to spiral out of control with dark or negative thoughts that would block my ability to think or do. However, working to keep my beliefs, behavior, and values aligned has helped me to stay calm in times of adversity so that I can always move forward.
Grace has been instrumental as well as a tool for dealing with disappointment or failure. It has also helped me stay connected so that I can pick up on any cosmic breadcrumbs that show up to help point me in the right direction.
