Meet Baja Smith of Miss B’s Table in Eastside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Baja Smith.

Baja, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I knew cooking was a passion at an early age. I attended Arabia Mountain High School and graduated with a Culinary Arts career path. I went on to attend Johnson & Wales University, where I received my degree in Culinary Arts. While attending Johnson & Wales, I was invited to participate in the Culinary program for the PGA Masters Tournament held in Augusta, GA. Participating in this program helped me build the confidence I needed to reassure myself that I can do this. I can make people happy through food.

For the last two years, I have worked as a line cook in a local Italian restaurant and an Asian cuisine restaurant in Charlotte, NC. Now that I have graduated, I have been working to build my clientele to go beyond family and friends. This is why I have started this page as well as my food Instagram and YouTube page. To invite everyone to get a taste of my world, even if it is just for one meal. Come on in and enjoy the Seasonings of Life.

Has it been a smooth road?
So far the road has been pretty smooth.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
So I am a private chef. My services include but are not limited to daily plates, meal prep, catering, private dinners and private events. I do not have a specialty. I like to make any and everything. My main goal is to create diversity within my clients’ palettes and diets. What sets me apart from others is that I actually care about the quality of food going on the plates and out to my clients.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Atl is how small it is, in terms of people. Everyone knows everyone, so word gets around quickly. Word of mouth is one of the best forms of advertisement. If you have everyone talking people who don’t know you will hear about you, free advertisement and you didn’t have to do a thing. What I like least in Atl is the traffic. Traffic can make delivery a NIGHTMARE, especially if you have more than one stop. You always have to leave early to be on time.
