Today we’d like to introduce you to Breona Williams.
Breona, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I just started my blogger journey less than six months ago – creating my own website, gathering content, topics, and noting beneficial life information. However, I’ve always been into anything that involves the latest design, decor, events, fashion, jewelry, lifestyle, beauty, advocacy, and more! I felt the need to represent the success and that “good vibes” energy of younger black women in a positive light. I got to where I am today through prayer, sacrifices, and a great family support system. I was always taught to “Run your own race,” and that has stuck with me since a younger child. This means to simply do you and work hard at whatever you desire.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It is never easy when starting up anything new. However, consistency and setting aside time is key. I get better at everything I do when I stay dedicated. If I ever feel like I am having an off day, I acknowledge it, write my thoughts/changes down and plan for a better tomorrow with better intentions. I might even take a self-care day here and there if needed. I don’t look at what others have or let it affect me as I know what is for me and in my path. We were all created to reveal and share our many talents that could essentially embrace others through their obstacles and challenges.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
My blog is a safe space for interaction, the latest trends, beauty, reviews, tips/tricks, self-care, and self-motivation. I always try to include relevant information that will benefit others who may need a little push. I am proud of the outcome: design, time, and content I have put into my website. The website is precise, detailed, easy to follow. I love to over-do it and go all out! I put my all into whatever I get my hands on.
What’s your favorite memory from childhood?
First, let me start off by saying I love chocolate and designing things. I used to bake and decorate cakes with my Granny as a younger child. She was always willing to provide the necessary tools I needed to bake or decorate my favorite chocolate cake in her kitchen on Mason Street in Flint, MI. I even took cake baking classes at Michael’s with my mom because I was amazed at the icing techniques: icing drop flowers & rosettes. Eventually, in my blog, I want to incorporate simple and easy recipes that I make at home, just my favorites!
