Meet Brett Radosta of Team Radosta in North East Atlanta and Lake Lanier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Radosta.

Brett Radosta, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I started my first company with my Dad when I was 12. It was a New Orleans Sno-Ball stand located in East Atlanta. We sold it when I went to college. I met my wife during college and we started a family. I did the 9-5 thing for about 15 years. I grew up as a swimmer and always had a passion to living a healthy lifestyle and as I got older and busier I realized the gap between living healthy and living unhealthy was getting wider and wider and I was headed towards unhealthy.

During the economic downturn that started in 2008, I began to evaluate things that are important to me and decided to create a company that I could use as a vehicle to live more intentional and to share my passions with others.

In 2008, I formed Team Radosta Fitness and Nutrition and started with 7 clients that wanted to live a healthier, balanced life. Since then we have expanded from a 5:30 am group fitness class into Workplace and School wellness programs, Stand up Paddleboarding and swim lessons. We are currently in the process of launching a Podcast that is designed to motivate and inspire individuals to create a path from a busy, over-scheduled life to a life of well-being and balance.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey has not always been a smooth road. We have had some good luck along the way and things always seem to work out. Our biggest struggle was losing a client that made up 40% of our business. It was a company account that closed Atlanta operations. We quickly shifted focus to our swim and Paddle Board programs to make up the loss in revenue. Some of the other struggles we have experienced is client turnover. That seems to be the trend in the fitness industry. Our program is not a fad program but a sustainable program that can be woven into a person’s everyday life. It requires effort and consistency and is not a magic pill that will transform your life with no effort. What we have done to overcome those obstacles with our clients is to grow and expand our program into other areas of fitness, for example, the Stand-up Paddleboarding. We also work to keep our programs sustainable and fun so clients don’t burn out. We also take a sincere interest and understanding in the obstacles our clients experience on their journey to live a healthy balanced life.

Team Radosta – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our company is Team Radosta and we focus on teaching and sharing with others how to live a healthy balanced life. We work hard to meet people where they are and begin to grow from there. We specialize in personalized group fitness training. We keep our classes small so we can stay focused on the client.

We also offer personal training and sport specific training.

We specialize in swim lessons from beginner to advance to triathlon training.

We offer workplace/employee wellness programs.

We sell and rent Stand up Paddle boards and offer SUP lessons and fitness classes.

What sets us apart is:
We have a knowledgeable, sensible, fun approach to fitness that doesn’t get caught up in the latest trends;
We are able to meet people where they are, from beginners to more seasoned athletes;
We take a holistic, sustainable approach to wellness;
We appreciate all the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of being active and outdoors and love to share that with others;

We care about clients and get a lot of happiness from their successes.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success by learning what are my unique gifts and how can I share them with others. I want to be able to inspire others to achieve their goals. I want to teach others how to experience new adventures and to rekindle the fire they have in them to learn and grow and thrive.

My criteria is to not give up. When I experience a setback I have a choice, I can give up and go negative or I can seek a solution and learn and grow as I move towards the solution.

Success to me is also living in balance. I want to have a good bank account and a good home life. I don’t want to be “busy” and miss out on relationships and life experiences. This requires an intentional approach to life.

    Team Radosta does a great job with personal sales and communications to its clients. We have rented sups from them and they delivered a quality product. Many of our clients have purchased from them. Get to the lake and try their late evening paddles on the lake. Sunsets alone a worth it. Humphrey Fraser Summit Swimming “We Never Quit! “🏊☝

    If you ever need children’s swim lessons, you can count on Team Radosta! Our kids went from sinking ships to water gliders. The personalized attention and affordable pricing is a no brainer. Anyone who lives on the north side of town should contact Brett and Team Radosta.

    We also tried the stand up boards out on Lake Lanier and after a quick lesson in humility, we had a great afternoon on the water. These are great from novice level all the way to expert. Also makes for a great “day-date” with the wife which is a much more interactive and creative idea than going to the same old Mexican restaurant down the street.
