Today we’d like to introduce you to Brezzy Monroe.
Brezzy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Music has always been my life. I started making music at a very young age. As early as Elementary, I was creating rhymes and self-taught myself how to play several instruments by ear. I was known for rapping and having so much personality throughout my grade school years. Every project I presented in school, I created raps instead of poster boards. The songs were so good the teacher let me perform them in front of all there classes. Even throughout college, I rapped for friends and events. Music has always been my passion it is a huge outlet for me. I am a very creative person and music gives me the ability to be myself.
Early as 2010, I began dropping freestyles on my social media accounts which began to attract attention. But I didn’t fully start taking my music serious until 2018 after my childhood Bestfriend Jamese told me, “It’s time to go dawg”. After that, I was encouraged by a longtime friend Teezy of SŌL SVVR EMPIRE to get in the studio and the rest was history. I been going strong performing live and heading several shows & showcases in & around my city. I’m also one of 95.7 Jamz Alabama Now Featured Artist with my latest single “Run It” thats in rotation. I’m just getting started new music & new projects are in the works so stay tuned.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, not the road has been bumpy but everything that has made it bumpy made me better. I am a single mother of two beautiful girls so you can only imagine what I go through on a daily basis. Trying to pursue a career in music as well as managing my regular life tasks can get crazy. But I continue to stay focused and encouraged. I’m thankful to have a solid foundation my family is amazing they LOVE my music and encourage me to be great. I understand I’m not only working hard for myself, my family as well. I use that as my push to keep going. It’s also has been a hard task trying to break out as a female artist especially in my city. No one really takes you serious until you make it which is sad. But it motivates me to give my all & it most definitely shows through my music, energy, personality & everything I do.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
