Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana McGee.
Briana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am the only girl of three brothers but my older brother has always played sports and was popular, so I was naturally popular from him. I was liked by all grade levels older and younger. I also was a star basketball player in high school and soon earned many scholarships to play basketball but I choose to play for The illustrious Clark Atlanta University. I was always a person known for having the latest shoes and clothes, I never really thought anything of it I just always liked to look nice, it was a different feeling when you walk in the room and you fresher than the guys in the room let alone the females. But the reason I become so noticed was that I was always so humble with it, I never made a big deal about being fresh. I just except my compliment and move on. But it got to a point where people would always call me an ask me to find them a fit or send me a fit and ask for my approval or if I could go shopping with them. So I started out wanting to be a streetwear run-way fashion model in which the dream is still open, but I realized I didn’t like being in front of cameras all day, so my mom was like the style a play behind the scene. So, I was like yeah that’s more me and I get to determine how people looked, so that was always fun too. So I am now an aspiring celebrity stylist.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not still easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not necessarily been smooth but not rough either. I am just controlling what I can a being patient waiting on my time but I for sure applying pressure in all situations.
Tell us more about your work.
I am known for Fashion/wardrobe styling. I am proud that I never allowed the outside world to change me and I feel like that’s what sets me apart from everyone else. I always stay true to my unique self and I motivate people to live in there true being because its not so much about what you have on but how you carry yourself in it.
