Meet Brittany Murray of Perpetual Hope

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Murray.

Brittany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Perpetual Hope is designed for women to show up as they are, and in turn, develop language to speak life into their circumstances. This community was built on the miracle of my youngest son Raphael. I’ve created a space where over 50 women gather to become “naked” or transparent. I lead by showing up in our virtual prayer room as I am. The stresses of life, being a wife and mother. I am also a new mother in the realm of special needs. That youngest son I mentioned before was born dead, and by the power of the Highest God, he was resuscitated. My uterus ruptured while in labor, causing my son to lose and an enormous amount of oxygen and blood flow to the brain. He was diagnosed with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy. Yes, it is a miracle that he is alive. But God had to do it! My son literally means God has healed in Hebrew. So God had to do it. God is not a man that He should lie to. God gave me my son’s name before I ever conceived.

In building this community, I’ve discovered that my youngest son is the personification of Perpetual Hope. I have been chosen to lead a group of women within the mantle I walk in daily with cultivating Raphael. What is Perpetual, you ask? It’s a continual expectation.

Why do I consider my son the personification and manifestation of Perpetual Hope? Every day I witness something new with him. He keeps me in continual expectation mode. I see the impossible become possible with this kid.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road leading these women but a rewarding one. The biggest struggle is showing up in my own “nakedness” when I may be sad or jealous or any emotion that naturally causes one to retreat.

We’d love to hear more about the organization.
I intentionally see women where they are as they are in some of life’s darkest hours. I am known for bringing clarity and light to situations, helping women to see themselves and a situation soberly. What sets me apart is the fact that I get into the story of a person with them as they share to provide empathy as well as insight.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I love Atlanta! Atlanta is quite competitive yet has become the hotbed for many to get started. I think Atlanta would be a good place to start out if a person’s idea is set apart and something the city has never seen a thing done before. My time living in Atlanta was for film/tv. It seemed like everyone was trying to become a tv star, and there were so many opportunities that it could be difficult for one to decipher what’s a legitimate job in that industry.
