Meet Brittany Nicole of Creating Our Future in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Nicole.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Throughout life and figuring out life’s purpose, I’ve understood how important it is to have that person you can look up to and to be mentored. I’ve always found my way mentoring either my peers or younger girls. My passion and ministry is to create substance and greatness within our future generation. Our youth is living in a different world and need more adults like myself pouring in positive energy, and creating change. This is why my organization Creating Our Future, Inc is so important and well needed in the community because collectively the organization focuses on youth/career development, leadership skills, community engagement, and becoming successful adults.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
So far the organization has been very successful for being in business for about three years. We recently finished our 3rd annual Back to School Giveaway and now we are getting ready for our 3rd annual Meet and Greet Community Picnic. I would not say its been easy but it has been very rewarding given the lives that we changed and the students we seen graduate and go off to college. Our main struggle was parent participation, but this year has been better.

Please tell us about Creating Our Future, Inc.
Creating Our Future, Inc is a youth mentoring program that introduces middle and high school students to career options of their choice. We are a mentoring program designed to lead, guide, and mentor the youth towards the direction of success. Our focus is on increasing graduation rates and college readiness in the schools of DeKalb County and Metro Atlanta.

Our Mission: Creating Our Future, Inc. youth mentoring program is dedicated to providing the necessary guidance, skills, training, and resources to better prepare the youth for college and career choices as they successfully transition into adulthood.

I am most proud of the company because of its growth. I have grown as a businesswoman, and the business has grown as a business. Just say we have matured into our purpose.

What sets us apart from other youth mentoring programs is that we develop a real friendship with the mentees and mentors. We consider ourselves to be family. I build relationships with the parents and develop a form of trust. This is more than just a business to me its a ministry and it’s my passion,

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Well, I really don’t believe in luck, just say I’ve been blessed. I mean really blessed not even financially more spiritually during this nonprofit business journey.
