Meet Brittney King-Robinson of Beautography in Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney King-Robinson.

Brittney, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my business when I realized I shared the same love for Hair & Photography. No matter which profession I worked in, I was happy doing it. I bought my first camera in 2014 when I had my daughter. I mean who doesn’t want to take pictures of your child? Prior to this I always had those disposable cameras when I was in high school or always braiding someone’s hair. In college I studied fine art, modeled as a hobby and still continued to style hair. After College I joined the Navy Reserves then decided to finally enroll into Cosmetology school. It wasn’t until about 2017 after changing my business name a couple of times that I decided on Beautography. Combining Beauty and Photography was the best way for me not to give up one career. Over the years with a lot of research, education and workshops my craft has developed even more. Learning how much of a difference the right equipment makes.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This road is not smooth AT ALL. It takes a lot of discipline & consistency. Along the way you’re going to get frustrated, you’re going to want to give up, you’re going to doubt yourself a lot but through it all you will feel in your heart when it’s your purpose.

Please tell us about Beautography LLC.
I specialize in Portrait Photography, Hair Extension & Natural hair.

As a company, I am most proud of my growth as a person. If life doesn’t make you grow, building a business will.

It’s funny that my friends would always say, “Man you are a one-stop shop”. Especially because my crafts extends beyond hair & photography. So I took this and ran with it. My business is set apart from others because I wanted to create a one stop shop. Why run all over the place trying to prepare for a photoshoot when you can come to one place, relax and be pampered. Save all that energy for the shoot!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have did more research on business equipment. Some people will say just buy something to help you start but I would have saved to get what I really wanted verses wasting money cheap equipment. I would have also focused more on one thing at a time. I use to be all over the place doing whatever made money but now I’m more focused on what God purposed me to do. I will tell people “NO” if it doesn’t align with my current business adventures.
