Meet Bryan Ramey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Ramey.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, I’m a country kid from Monroe, Ga. I attended Monroe Area High School where there are over 100 class clowns in our school. I was always an entertaining guy. I was in the marching band, which I would always break out into a dance routine, make up a song, start up a sing-along, be the goofy one in the lunch room, and overall, just likable. I was introduced to comedy by my friend Nick Landers, who decided to sign up for an open mic. He convinced me to sign up to perform and when I stepped on stage, all the I wrote down, I forgot. There were the longest three seconds of my life of silence but once I opened my mouth to speak, I knew I was supposed to do this. I’ve been blessed to hosted A3C event at the Stankonia Studios, hosted 2 years at the Sweet Auburn Music Festival, the host for Hip Hop Spring Festival, performing in comedy festival in St. Augustine, performing Charlotte, NC Comedy Zone 2018 “rising stars”, acting in the top 10 binged watched black Web series “Have a Nice Day”, being apart of “Being Mary Jane” season 4 episode 2.

The blessing that came my way were all by staying true to me, consistency, and respect.

Has it been a smooth road?
On this road of being an entertainer, there will always be bumps in the road. The struggles that I had along the way have been balancing my job with my entertaining career. I work for an airline and the struggle to give time to my craft on stage had been tough, giving up days at work for stage time to practice my craft and knowing that it will take food out of my mouth was a killer, my first year doing comedy. But it was a price to pay, especially my first year, there were times where I would do open mics to be seen for four days a week for free with no paid days off at my other job and would have no lights for weeks at a time. I would set up payment arrangements and there would be times I wouldn’t have the money on that day. But the beauty in the struggle would be an opportunity to perform for paid shows or hosted events which helped me see a bigger picture and give the confidence I needed.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a comedian, host, and actor. I’ve had a chance to perform all over Atlanta, in Charlotte, and St. Augustine Florida. My proud moment was when I was the host for the 2017 Sweet Auburn Music Festival, on one of 4 stages they had, and there were 4,000 people who attended the event. Being on stage giving 800 people just my personality and I had there undivided attention was a true blessing. The people were singing along, dancing with me, high fives smile, and laughing from beginning to end. It wasn’t just a show, WE made it a family reunion. I was supposed to host for an hour but it turned into a 3-hour hosting event with the people.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
What I love about Atlanta is everybody is in our city. This city has a character from the north side, south side, east side, and west side of Atlanta. When this city loves you, they really love you. But the thing I like least about Atlanta is everybody is in our city. Haha, traffic is too bad. It’s hard to pick a good time to drive downtown. Traffic is bad at 10:30 pm too.
