Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Barr.
Caleb, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Vancouver, Washington on November 8th, 2000. My mother “Kyra Barr” and my Father ” Carey Barr” Raised me in Vancouver but we would travel to Portland, Oregon, a lot because that was where all our family members where. Growing up when I was a baby was not easy because my mother had a skin condition that affected how she raised me and my older sister “Hadiya” when we were younger.
Since my dad was always at work trying to make enough money for use to live at the time in our house, I barely spent time with my father growing up and it was mostly my mother who took care of use. When I got older around the age of seven, My life gotten harder because at that time both my parents were working a lot. My Mom had gotten an opportunity to work for a private college as an English teacher.
As for my dad, he worked for a car dealer and he was always gone because they would always have late hours. My older sister went to Cornerstone Christian school which is a private school in Vancouver that she attended for four years before we moved, While I was home schooled because my mother never wanted me to go to school because she didn’t want me to get into trouble and she thought she could teach me herself.
At the age of 11 we moved to Idaho where we lived for about 8 years and that was the best time and worst time of my life because I made so many good friends and to this day we are still close after almost ten years, yet I wasn’t close to my family because that was when my mom and dad would argue a lot for no reason and my older sister started to get into a lot of trouble.
I felt like I was the only one in the family that wasn’t going down a dark path, yet sooner than later I too started going down a dark path because I was depressed about how things were going so that’s when my anger problem came into the picture.
Then I started to listen to music and soon I started to sing and make beats for awhile. Since I was into music the problems around me started to fade but I knew that it hasn’t gone away completely I was just trying to cover up my pain with music. Then in 2017, we moved to Marietta, GA and that’s when things changed for the better and worse.
I started to get into film so that was when my career started. Then a year later, my dad left me and my siblings, That broke my heart to the point where I didn’t know how to come back from it. It was me and my Mom for a year and we had to do everything on our own which made me more angry with my dad because he wasn’t there for us when we needed him.
Then out of know where my dad passed away from a heart issues that no one knew about because he never told us. I was lost because now I knew that I could never get a chance to talk to my dad again so I started to work a lot more so I wouldn’t think about the pain.
Although my life was heading up and down things did start to get better when I met the love of my life “Jaiden” who changed my life for the better.
Since my father’s death I have been doing a lot in the film industry such as worked on sets like Avengers EndGame and AMC, then I have worked with people like Bruce Bruce and the Braxton Sisters and just recently I have been on season 2 of CW Legacies.
Me and my mother are better now then we were before and me and my girlfriend are doing wonderful even though we have our issues, I would never leave her in a day in my life. Even though my life was always an up and down roller coaster I still managed to come out on top and I still strive for the best.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing up was hard because not having the support from my parents and them always being gone at work, mostly my father.
