Meet Caleb Hicks of CH Music Productions in Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Hicks.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Caleb. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My passion for music began to flourish when I was just eight years old. I can vividly remember getting a Walkman and my two favorite albums for Christmas in 1999. I would listen to those CDs over and over again, meticulously dissecting every single aspect of the music and envisioning myself as a member of a band. So, when my dad bought me my first guitar, I immediately began learning my favorite punk rock songs and forming various bands with my friends. At that time, I had a big, youthful, and inspiring dream, but I didn’t have any direction. I spent years limiting myself to endeavors that existed solely within the confines of my comfort zone because of my misplaced fear of the unknown, and this led to a creative complacency that almost destroyed my dream. Then, after a lot of wrong turns and a life-changing trip to London, my dream began to refine. I realized that I didn’t have to be on a stage to be content with music as a career. I just had to be creating and helping others do the same. That realization reawakened my widespread love for all forms of art, effectively changing my outlook on my future.

With a newfound focus, I began to hone my craft and develop my musical skills so I could start my own business. I dove into music theory, became a multi-instrumentalist, and learned how to engineer and produce my own music. I also began experimenting with photography, editing videos, and creating artwork for other artists. Adding more tools to my creative toolkit increased the number of opportunities that came my way. This led me to conceptualize CH Music Productions as a full-scale production company built on the principle that the artist comes first. My company will facilitate creative minds by providing them with a network of professional producers, engineers, songwriters, and session musicians who share this philosophy and go the extra mile. I’ve come to find that my purpose in life is to make music and help other aspiring musicians create freely. Music brings people together, so it shouldn’t be hard for an artist to have their music be heard by the world. That’s why CH Music Productions is dedicated to enabling creativity.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey has not been a smooth and carefree one. There have been countless waves of doubt, anxiety, and questions that I have had to learn to overcome along the way. I’ve been underestimated by industry executives and peers alike, causing me to doubt my work and its quality. I’ve been rejected by many, and oftentimes I wonder if I’m just wasting my time. The music industry can be cutthroat and difficult to navigate.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with CH Music Productions – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

I strive to make the people that I collaborate with not only feel creatively enabled and supported but also empowered to make the best art that they possibly can. CH Music Productions will never be a company that exists to satisfy itself through greed and underhanded business dealings. My company will always do what’s best for the artist because it’s not about the money – it’s about the art.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am looking forward to marrying my fiancee and starting a family with her. I plan to pay the bills and feed my family with the money that I earn from doing what I love – making music, and enabling others to do the same. I will continue to learn and grow as a musician, entrepreneur, and businessman so I can provide the best service possible for my collaborators.
