Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Glover.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Cassandra. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m 44 years old, married and with two kids. How I became a notary is so funny. Some years ago, I was with a friend and I remembered a lady walking up to her asking for a notary. I was shocked because I didn’t know what was going on. My friend pull out this instrument (the notary seal) and began to pressed on the paperwork and signed her signature. The lady reached in a purse and paid my friend. I thought that was so amazing. All I kept saying, “I want to be a notary.” I began doing my research online on: How to become a notary? I found out the info and headed down to the Fulton County Courthouse. When I arrived I was so excited. I paid my fee, got sworn in and I was noted an official Notary Public in the year 2000. I can remember being so afraid that I was going to mess up, because this was something new for me. I had to think of a business name and I wondered how people were going to contact me for my services. It took me awhile to get the ball rolling. The first year I notarized maybe five people which were friends. I kept telling myself there is got to be a better way. Year after year I decided to implement new things I could do to better my business. This included advertisement, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, etc. Over the last five years, I’ve gone full time. I made it my business to be there for the community and companies.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Everything hasn’t always been smooth. There were some struggles along the way. In the beginning, I was comparing my business to others which cause me to doubt myself. A couple of times, I wanted to throw in the towel but the Holy Spirit said no, I was letting doubt and fear set in. I was questioned myself like, “how come they get more calls than me”. I figured the only thing I needed to do, was focus on what God had given me. This is how I was able to keep my business by encouraging myself.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Glover Mobile Notary Services story. Tell us more about the business.
My business began over 15 years ago, I had a passion which grew with assisting people in a time of gaining or hardship. My experience and talent is credited due to me staying a fresh of the notary laws and forms, working with title and mortgage companies. Within these 15 years, I became not just a notary but a signing agent. This has allowed me to educate other notaries and help them start a profitable business. I’m proud of my business, I call this my baby. I started off with five customer the first year and now I seeing over 400 customers a year now. What set me apart for other is that, I’m grateful to be in an industry where lives are changed one notary at a time.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I want to thank God for giving me a vision for Glover Mobile Notary Services. I couldn’t have done of this without the help of my husband and my children. My business have so many because I’m able to minister to the souls, help family members in tragic times and some people just want a listening ear. I am lucky to be a blessing to other. I don’t never want to take it for granted.
