Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanel Williams.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chanel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a beautiful 29 year old African American resident of Pennsylvania. Growing up, I always heard the phrase from others, “Chanel, you have a purpose, walk in it”, but I never had a clear vision of that purpose, until the beginning of 2018. After experiencing a great portion of hurt and disappointment not only with relationships, but life in general, I decided to help other woman who have experienced loss, hurt, low self esteem, the lack of self worth/value, and the lack of self confidence. It was November of 2018, that I launched the brand entitled Confidently U. Confidently U is a women’s brand to help not only encourage, but also inspire and empower women to be their confident selves. There is so much that women deal with spoken of and unspoken of, however there is nothing like a woman who can pick herself up after being thrown so many obstacles from this thing called life! Even though I am still healing and embracing the journey of loving myself again, my prayer is that not only my designs will encourage every woman, but will also inspire and empower them to keep pressing and conquering with confidence! In ending, there is so much beauty in a woman, so with that being said in the words, I say to every woman that’s reading, ”beautiful, get up from where you are & regain back the confidence that was stolen from so that you can live again”!
Currently, Confidently U is proud to announce that our brand is reaching woman all over the USA. Our merchandise has reached women from the East Coast to the West Coast, and it was all due to our amazing supporters and valuable customers.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Establishing a brand has not been a smooth journey, but yet very rewarding. There has been many days where I have waited for sales to come in and when the sales didn’t come when I expected them to, I definitely lost hope, got discouraged, at times lost confidence within my brand, and wanted to give up. There has also been times where I would promote my brand and would get no picture shares and/or likes, sales, and even support. Regardless of the struggles that I have faced and still face, I continue to push to empower other woman to be their best selves.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Confidently U story. Tell us more about the business.
Confidently U is a women’s t-shirt brand that empowers and inspires women to be bold, strong, fearless, beautiful, unique, and confident. Our merchandise is designed with various inspirational sayings along with the symbol of a lipstick in which symbolizes power, strength, boldness, beauty, sophistication, and confidence. We also have a prayer journal that is designed for women who enjoy journaling and writing down not only their prayer requests, but also their dreams and goals.
What I am most proud of as a company is that regardless of what each month holds, we still strive to succeed and give our customers the most valuable service possible.
What sets us apart as a company from others is that not only do we sell t-shirts and other empowering merchandise, but we also host virtual chats every Monday evening at 7Pm. These virtual chats are designed to be a free judgement zone platform for women from all over to come on ZOOM and we have the opportunity to discuss the issues that women deal with from day to day. These virtual chats are to help build women up not only naturally but also spiritually with various topics being discussed each new week.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We have had some amazing good luck days where we have been blessed to have the opportunity to send some celebrities and well known musical artists some of our apparel. We believe in being a blessing and inspiration to those woman who have been a blessing and inspiration to woman all over the world, so we wanted to show our token of love by sending them some Confidently U apparel. Some of these celebrities and musical artists include;
Gospel recording artist Kierra “KiKi” Sheard, Gospel recording artist Jekalyn Carr, TV Host, Author, and Civil Rights Attorney Areva Martin, and a host of others.
