Meet Chelsea Regina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Regina.

Chelsea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am so excited to be sharing this story as the most recent milestone, my first original album, was released July 19th!

I am originally from Chattanooga, TN. There I grew up and quickly formed passion for music and the performing arts. I started really enjoying singing when I was around ten years old and realized I wasn’t half bad. It wasn’t long before I started to become interested in acting and combined the two turning to musical theatre. I continued with theatre and eventually film throughout high school and college. I then moved to the Atlanta area in 2016. After attempting to pursue a professional acting career I realized my heart was really in singing and songwriting all along. For the past two years, I have been successful at being a jingle writer for commercials, promos and ads, a vocal actress and now a solo recording artist!

The road hasn’t been easy but it has been worth it.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely my fair share of struggles. I’m sure everyone can relate to just no having enough money! I have been doing this solely through my and my husband’s own income. Hiring a photographer, writing my own music and lyrics, hiring a sound engineer and producing, distributing, and promoting it myself. My album, “Still Here”, is a collection of songs I’ve sat on for months to even years. Just refusing to ever finish anything or take myself seriously. Until the birth of my daughter in August 2018. She inspired me to really take my work/art seriously but it hasn’t been easy with a baby (almost toddler!) And finally, for a young unknown artist, support can be hard to come by. No one knows you and you’ve really got to convince them to take a listen, but I’ve got more faith in myself to keep pushing through no matter what.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
On the more business end, I am a jingle writer. Specializing in creating one-of-a-kind music and lyrics that are catchy and to the point for use in commercials, promotions, advertisements, and industrials.

Other projects include my personal albums and covers as well as a featured singer on popular YouTube channels including “SuperDeluxe”.

I am most proud of finally completing my first album on my own!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could go back about ten years ago, I wish I could tell myself to pursue music first. I was so torn back then about whether I wanted to be an actress or a singer and that held me back for a while.
