Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl Walker.
Hi Cheryl, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am the founder and CEO of Luxus Consulting Firm. My mission is to empower individuals and businesses to revitalize their inner ability to thrive and flourish in the areas of education and economics. I have a master’s in organizational leadership. I started my firm with the goal to help others succeed in life. As a woman in business, I have found that it is so important for leaders to be authentic. I intend to use the platform of entrepreneurship to raise awareness of the importance of education and economics. As a business owner, I have a social responsibility to the community. I have worked for several state agencies for over 15 years and I know firsthand that people perish for lack of knowledge. My firm is equipped with tools and resources to provide the mental stamina necessary for individuals to rise to their highest potential.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m glad you asked and the answer is NO. It has not been a smooth road. It has been a very difficult journey. I had to master my emotions in order to succeed. I made up in my mind that I can do hard things. I got comfortable being uncomfortable. I learned to be ok with being told no. I have learned that it is ok to start again, to move differently and more intelligently. Effort is key. On this journey, you will get tired. Learn the art of rest and don’t give up. Prepare while you wait. Remember, the journey is what makes the destination worth it.

Luxus Consulting Firm offers services to individuals and businesses. For business consulting, we offer crisis communication, economic development, team building, a host of management services and diversity and inclusion. For individuals, we offer a signature program to reduce chronic stress and self-discovery. During this process, we give our clients a risen prospective on pain, goal-setting, staying on task, and committing to the efforts that will bring them the quality of life that they desire. I offer speaking engagements where I bring charisma and motivation to my listeners, invoking change and a shift in the mindset of my audience. What sets me apart from others is: prayer, a strong work ethic and I trust God in every aspect of my life and career. My aim is to make living for God look attractive and to get everyone involved in the glory of God. Luxus Consulting Firm partners with other small businesses and nonprofits to empower the communities that we serve. I want you to know that, as an emerging business owner, I am committed to the development of education and economics in underserved and rural communities. My firm is bringing a force of experience, education, and resources to build a stronger individual that will make a stronger community. I am a member of the National Small Business Association Leadership Council, the Bank of America Advisory Panel, a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, I received the Engaged Leader Award-National Society of Leadership and Success.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I stayed to myself a lot. I had very few friends. I was very quiet and at times, a bit shy. I was very smart and graduated at the top of my class. I loved home economics in high school and I spent a lot of time in the library. I was very inquisitive. I spent a lot of time with my cousins and I was very active in church.
