Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Hanna.
Christian, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I lived in Jamaica until I was about 10years old and moved to the Florida Area. The culture change was very difficult for me and I found comfort in skateboarding. After about two years, I would migrate to the Atlanta area. In the area, I realized a huge divide between skaters in the local skate community. This divide was due to Ego and “cliques” refusing friendships.
This gave me the idea to start “Sesame” with its first contest on March 3rd, 2018. This brought everyone together to skate for one common goal! The motto of the company is “WOP” (With One Purpose), and that is exactly what everyone has at our events, 1 Purpose!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Struggles included finding sponsors for our events and getting the City Council of each City we hosted an event in, to be on board with the Contest. After overcoming these small obstacles though, “Sesame” was at full sail!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sesame story. Tell us more about the business.
Sesame is a skateboarding Platform, created to help aspiring skateboarders become professional or gain sponsors that could potentially help grow their career! We help by hosting almost ten contests a year, NationWide. And posting content to our Social Media Pages.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck plays a huge role in my personal life. I do believe you create your own luck with Karma. I also believe “Bad Luck” is a choice made by your previous actions.
