Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina McKeeby.

I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was a little girl. I’ve always loved to hold my memories in my hand and have the ease of being transported back to that time. Truth be told, my memory is terrible, so without pictures, I fear I’d forget just about everything.
My story is pretty similar to many other momtogs out there. My daughter was born and the desire to capture every little moment was strong. As friends saw my images, they began asking me to take some of their own family and soon a business was born.
Over the years, I have changed my style from posed smiles to a more candid, relaxed feel. As my kids have gotten older, I’ve realized I don’t want memories of them standing stiff in matching outfits. I want the real them. I want photos of them that bring me right back to that moment. I want my images to literally be those moments in time, we wish we could freeze.

That is my goal for my own images and yours.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I never had a dream of running a business, so reaching a lofty goal was never a challenge since I never had one. I’ve been lucky that my business has organically grown by word of mouth.
Our recent move to the Atlanta area has brought me back to ground zero. Rebuilding, in a year that my 3rd child was born, has definitely been more challenging than I expected. Luckily, my passion and talent have only strengthened as my own children have gotten older. The years truly have gone by in a blink and I’m always working hard to perfectly capture our imperfect life.
This rebuilding season has challenged me to pursue continuing education. It’s made me think about how I want to grow this business and how to better myself so I can provide a better experience for my clients. I feel more confident than ever about my images and my ability to create an environment for my clients that makes them feel comfortable to interact naturally.

McKeeby Photography started as a company that shot whatever you offered to pay us for! 🙂
Nowadays, we try to limit ourselves to what we truly excel at. We have a love for family photography and showcasing your family’s most genuine moments. We love following families from their maternity sessions to playful sessions in the park. We do offer a variety of sessions, but they all follow a more natural, lifestyle approach.
We’ve stopped offering posed newborn sessions, but swoon over the opportunity to capture you becoming a family through fresh 48 or in home sessions.

I’ve been very lucky over the years to be surrounded by a wonderful community of photographers. I don’t have a specific mentor, but have worked with a wide variety of photographers. I’ve joined several groups that were filled with women looking to support and build each other up. In a world so full of competition, I’ve been very grateful to say that I have only ever been a part of groups that have encouraged me to grow.
