Meet Christopher Cater of Teach Me Tech in Sandy Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Cater.

Christopher, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have worked for several retail organizations and brands selling electronics. I loved engaging with customers and educating them on the cool features a device provided. Repeat customers would tell me how they enjoyed their electronics, but some would return them because of how difficult it was to set it up to their liking or they couldn’t figure out how to do the things we did in the demo together.

I also had the opportunity to meet awesome business owners who wanted to implement new processes and ideas into their growing business but did not know where to start. Seeing these struggles lead to the idea of Teach Me Tech. It is a company that will set up electronic devices for you, customize it, and teach you all the cool things you would want to know about your technology.

Has it been a smooth road?
I genuinely love technology and sharing knowledge, so doing the work has never been a struggle. Supporters appreciate having someone to help them set up new gadgets and teach them cool tricks. This makes this company a very enjoyable experience.

The greatest obstacle with the company has been exposure; telling people that Teach Me Tech is an available service to help when you buy a new device.

I’ve noticed that retail giants and phone manufacturers have tried to implement classes and setup services, but customers are usually rushed and classes are not tailored to each person. This will allow for the success of Teach Me Tech as soon as more people know they can call us after buying new phones, tablets, and smart home devices.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a Technical Advisor. I build a relationship with clients so that Teach Me Tech can be the personal tech support company for consumers and growing business owners in the Atlanta area.

After learning more about the client, technicians will set up their new devices. This includes customizing the devices and making sure they fit within the client’s lifestyle. Most clients also schedule a workshop so they can learn more about the new device or software they have. Last, we record tutorials so clients can watch and learn more whenever they want.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The city is PERFECT! I love being here. Atlanta is a booming city both for population and technology. The city has plenty of locations to buy new technology and people will buy even more once they know they have a trusted source to help them set it up.

I would highly recommend new start-ups to grow in Atlanta. We have a large population and great people who are loyal to companies with great customer service.
