Christopher, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Own a clothing lifestyle brand Life’s Journey.
I’m a native of Lexington, Kentucky born and raised. I was just like millions of other people a, person just trying to find their purpose in life. I always loved fashion and had a heart for people.
So, one night I thought of the idea to start my own clothing line. I remember praying the next few nights, asking God for guidance and clarity. I remember waking up from my sleep with name Life’s Journey on my mind.
As I started to make my vision a reality and had been given the name of my brand, I knew I needed to create a logo. I first started with an eagle, but after running into trademark issues. I ended up creating my new logo from a car accident that I survived in December of 2009. As I continued to build my brand, only starting with $300 dollars, I printed up a few t-shirts and started selling them out of the back of my truck to family and friends. Once I gained enough support, I began putting together local events in my hometown Lexington, KY. Fashion shows, comedy shows, community events, and charity basketball tournaments, just to name a few.
Since then the brand has grown tremendously! I opened my first store back in 2015, but after several break-ins, I decided to close the shop and I took the approach of pop up shops as a better alternative. I have curated pop up events in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Alabama, Cincinnati and many more locations throughout the country. I have recently relocated to Los Angeles to further my brand and gather the missing pieces to complete my puzzle/journey. I have also purchased a mobile truck that I am currently transforming into a mobile, mini pop up store. I have built my brand around serving others by providing quality items that have a positive message. You’re not just buying the clothes you’re buying the message and how it makes you feel. My tagline for my brand is Believe Pursue Inspire. Believe in yourself, pursue your purpose, inspire the world.
Has it been a smooth road?
Honestly, this journey has been a marathon throughout building this brand. In fact, every level that I’ve encountered in life have taught me my most valuable lessons. I always tell aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace the obstacles that they face. You cannot skip experiences whether good or bad if you do there will come a time in life where it will come back around to you in a different way because that was a lesson that you had to experience in order to learn. I have been a full-time entrepreneur for the past two years, and it has been a roller coaster ride, to say the least. Some of the struggles that I have faced were honestly making people believers in my brand. It’s difficult trying to push a new product on people especially something positive, that was a challenge I faced early on when I first started my brand. I also struggled with the lack of mentors in terms of individuals that have built successful clothing brands that could provide me with the knowledge and guidance I needed to build. With that being said, everything I learned was learned through my own trial and error. However, I always say embrace the struggle because it is only temporary. The best is yet to come!

Life’s Journey is a clothing lifestyle company that inspires individuals to pursue their purpose while on earth. We focus on storytelling through our fashion. For instance, we have created t-shirts with have positive massages on them to uplift our consumers. Our company is known for providing inspiration and hope to all dreamers young and seasoned. What I take the most pride in, within my company? Truthfully, that’s a difficult question because I have experienced so many proud moments. I would have to say that I take the most pride in knowing that I am operating in my purpose on earth. Creating this brand has granted me so many special moments with people from all backgrounds, all over the world. Also, I’m happy that I have built a solid foundation for my son.
What separates me is that I focus on adding value to equip you along your life’s journey. My brand gives people hope and inspiration to pursue their dreams.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I do feel Atlanta is a great place to grow and start a business. To me, I always viewed Atlanta as a hub for individuals to come in and out of the city. There is a ton of resources and a huge support system within the city.
