Meet Chuma Chapman of A Touch of Drapery in East Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chuma Chapman.

Chuma, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I worked for several event design companies while I was in college and really enjoyed the experience of making events beautiful and clients happy. Through my experience as an employee, I observed several opportunities for growth and capitalized on some of them. The final opportunity I acted upon was to open my own small enterprise and specialize in drapery. At that point, I had a reasonable amount of knowledge, training, and experience in the field, therefore, I took a leap of faith and opened A Touch of Drapery.

I have loved the journey so far and enjoyed the process and growth that the company has gone through.

Has it been a smooth road?
So far it has been quite an experience to get where we are today. Most of the process has been smooth and of course some bumps came upon us, but we successfully moved past them and have strived for growth. All growth comes with some form of pain, and those are welcome.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with A Touch of Drapery – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
A Touch of Drapery specializes in decorating weddings, parties, and events of all types with drapery and up lights. We are known for quality customers service and beautiful drapery setups.

We are most proud of our attention to detail and customer satisfaction.

What sets us apart from the competition is our drive to make sure the customer loves the service and result they are receiving. Our customers love working with us because we are friendly people and easy to deal with.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have grown up in the area since I was five years old and Atlanta is indeed home. I love the diversity of the city! There is always so much going on and plenty of things to do. It is hard to get bored! I dislike the traffic which is a small price to pay for living in such a great place.
