Meet Corey Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Jones.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my YouTube journey after doing much research on being a content creator. A lot of people just jump into it, which is fine but I needed to see how I could deliver great content from a unique perspective. I then realized there weren’t many videos surrounded around fraternity and sororities. I decided to make advice videos for individuals interested in joining, while also highlighting the positive things our organizations do in the community. I was the first in my family to go Greek and there were plenty of things I didn’t know. My videos come from that perspective, I break down the ways to show interest, be yourself, and utilize the organization for networking opportunities.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. When I first started, I thought about quitting within a month or two. I had to remind myself, anything worth having doesn’t come easy. My main struggle was building a community on YouTube. It’s hard to get people to watch your videos and even harder to get them to subscribe to commit to being apart of your community.

Please tell us about what you do.
I take pride in the fact that I’m helping with building the next generation of Greeks. The earlier the exposure the better. I’m known for being personable and telling it like it is. I’m proud of the fact that I’ve reached a little over 18,000 subscribers and 1.2 million views. What sets me apart is my approach to educating. I’m always myself and I add a little humor to keep folks engaged.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory is riding bikes with friends around the neighborhood like we ran things. We’re now in a time where kids are drifting away from being kids. They’re in the house playing games, watching YouTube, and probably on social media. Going outside and roaming the neighborhood was always something I looked forward to as a child.
