Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Burke.
Courtney, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Beauty’s N Boots Female Empowerment actually started with my daughter Skylar and close friends that were just sleeping over. The girls were so curious about me being a Soldier and a “girl” in their words. Their curiosity and questions turned into full conversations about dreams and goals which I made them jot down and share. Questions like “were you scared? you work with the guys too? and what do the females do”? are just a few questions that stood out. I replied,“ we do everything the males do! Once you set your mind on a target, goal or dream, write down what you can do to achieve it.” We have to be confident because women actually run the world. The girls are so amazing, they actually make my work a breeze. The beauty’s came up with the theme song by Beyoncé Run the world. From there, we share dreams, goals, fears, and strengths, learning interest, overcoming and accomplishing a wide range of taskings cohesively twice a month while incorporating group outings and training. I knew that I wanted to build a loving sisterhood of females that posses LDRSHIP (Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage) to themselves,their school, families and community while teaching independence, dependence, leadership and self defense skills, meditation and simply knowing how to properly take care of themselves. We are all bold, beautiful and brilliant. We are Beauty’s N Boots.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A smooth road… doesn’t exist anyway. Definitely a long road… but a long road on such a very promising journey.
Years and years of planning and brainstorming, meetings by phone from city to city and many ideas jotted down on several pages of many notepads got us to this place… we’ve done it all.
But it has absolutely and definitely been worth every moment!!!
It is such a rewarding feeling to see the many years of planning come to fruition.
Struggles have only made for a stronger desire to succeed and become a great organization that BNB was desired to be. My Co-Founders favorite quote from Napoleon Hill is, “Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.”
There was a struggle in figuring out how to get started, who to contact, where sponsorship would come from. How to recruit and encourage participation wasn’t a struggle, but making sure the right message was put out to inform the public about the BNB organization. Determining what resources would be needed and where to host meetings was a struggle… the group grew so fast that initial hosting locations were outgrown. Transportation to and from meetings and events posed a struggle for some members. No matter the challenges and struggles, the main focus is ensuring that the founders are always available, stay dedicated and continue to provide the necessary resources to meet the needs of BNB members.

Beauty’s N Boots Female Empowerment’s mission is to motivate, educate, mentor and train all young females on life’s skills to enhance reaching short and/or long term dreams and goals.
This organization is unique because of the ideas and military values established in the brainstorming of the foundation. With creative minds, desiring to reach our youth(essentially our female youth), a great deal of thoughtful planning created the core of what BNB is all about. Continuously incorporating not only female empowerment, education, and a great deal of life lessons and opportunities, we expose members of the BNB organization to the community and teach life lessons and military values that can be applied to all aspects of their being to promote positive growth and character development.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always outgoing and independent. I thrive off of challenges and enjoy helping others. My faith has brought me this far.
Faith plays a huge role in my everyday life and in my businesses. I have always known that I wanted to indulge myself with our young future inspirers. Beauty’s N Boots starts off every meeting with a prayer and encouragement welcome which the beauty’s are all learning to lead as well. Without faith, I would still be writing about my organization and all the boggled up ideas that could possibly help others. I thought of the young females I can positively affect and took the leap of faith by hosting my first meeting at my house not expecting many to come. Amazingly, five girls showed up. “This is really happening“, I said. Those five girls are my original BNBs. I am so blessed and grateful for their leap of faith on this journey. I love them all dearly.
