Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Reeves.
Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been an RN for 15 years and I’ve been an Advanced Practice RN (Nurse Practitioner) since 2015. I have a background in Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Hospice and Nephrology. I have always toyed with the idea of starting my own business but could never figure out what I wanted to do. I had an interest in aesthetics but was unsure of how to break into the field. I enjoyed receiving aesthetic procedures and wanted to have the opportunity to share my interest with others. I happened upon the idea of IV hydration and decided to look further into the field. I loved the idea of using my nursing skills to help people support their health goals while also fulfilling my goal of entrepreneurship. The ability to add aesthetics along with IV hydration has been an added bonus.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge was building my confidence – believing in myself that I could actually pull this off. With each month of operation, my confidence improves and I’m anticipating what the next month has in store. With starting any new business, you also have to consider finances in starting up your business and the health and wellness business can be expensive. You definitely have to be smart with budgeting and deciding whether or not you need to add that new device to your service menu.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in IV Hydration and aesthetic services. IV Hydration treatments consist of vitamins such as Vitamin C, B-complex and Magnesium mixed in normal saline and administered via an IV. The treatments can be individually tailored to each client based on their health goals. There are IV hydration treatments to help support a variety of health goals. There are IV hydration treatments that offer immune support, help to diminish the symptoms of a hang-over, provide migraine headache relief, and to help improve the appearance of hair, skin and nails. Aesthetic services offered include medical weight loss, microneedling and chemical peels. In the coming weeks, I will also offer anti-wrinkle toxins and dermal fillers.
I’m most proud of being able to offer one-on-one services to my clients and I’m able to manage their care from the time they make an appointment to the time they are ready to check out. I feel what sets me apart is that I take the time with my clients to answer questions and listen to them about what their goals are. I care about them and their time and I appreciate that they chose me for their services. I’m most proud of myself for taking a chance on myself and stepping out on faith. I’m thankful that I didn’t talk myself out of this opportunity.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as achieving your personal goals no matter how big or small they may be. Success is being happy and confident in your decisions and being able to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
