Meet Dante Allen of D-Fresh Beatz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dante Allen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my career at 13 years learning fl studio. I was self-taught, and my first experience learning the program was via an introduction with a family member. I began by studying the top producers in the music industry. This made me hungry to learn more and also inspired me to follow their workflow, habits, patterns, strategies. I relentlessly studied their different techniques and philosophies. Being that I am originally from Michigan culturally. I have always been a fan of hip hop. My Dad saw my passion in music but! Even more, believed in my relentless work ethic. His belief in me led us to meet with my current manager of six years. Andre ( U.R.L ) Williams. He didn’t sign me immediately. But we stayed in contact and always communicated. This allowed me to groom my craft, and all the while sending him new material, such as beats, harmony, melodies weekly. Then at the age of 17, I took a major step in y career and signed a management contract.

Around the same time, I also received my first T.V sync placement with Bad Girls Club. Immediately After high school, I moved from Waterford Michigan to Atlanta, GA. There was no doubt in my mind that this was the necessary move if I was to pursue my goals and dreams to further my music career. I also made the decision to further my craft by not only producing but by challenging myself to learn how to become a skilled Engineer as well. I started going to studio sessions, watching, learning asking questions. Making mistakes and learning from them. My team made sure that I was surrounded by other talented individuals that new more than me. They did this so I could learn while always challenging me to do better and making sure that I learned the nuances of engineering.

Shortly after that, I began to see music differently and really understood the creation process and music more in general so much more. I developed a new outlook on everything music and learned not only to love it but to respect. I went on to engineering my own sessions and having my first big session recording Jim Jones. In 2015. I also became apart of my company ISWIMWITHSHARKSINC and I currently work with a lot of major labels, independent artists, and producers. The ending of last year was huge for me. I scored a production for the Migos XXL Winter Cover Story/video, Pastor Troy, & Fred The Godson. This year, my team and I got the opportunity to score tracks in the upcoming B.M.F documentary and got the opportunity to produce the XXL Freshman Class 2019 pitch videos for all of the artists for the 10th spot on the XXL freshman list. I am currently working on more things with XXL, more amazing artists and I am excited to see what the future hold. Hard work pays off, but this is just the beginning of my journey. Stay tuned to see what’s in store for me next.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
