Meet David Pollack

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Pollack.

David, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My love for music all started as a kid. I had a tape player with a microphone attached and I would take songs off the radio and sing along to them. I called the tapes “David’s Greatest Hits.” As I got older, I picked up the guitar and started writing songs. I was in bands all throughout middle school and high school and navigated through the rough and tough local music scene of my native New York City. When I got into my 20’s, I explored a solo career. I always loved playing with a band but I wanted this project to be my own ala “Tom Petty and The Heart Breakers or Paul Simon. Since 2012, I’ve released five albums and have toured nationally. I love performing for people but most of all I love the constant movement and travel of being a musician!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not always been a smooth road. I’ve made a lot of mistakes trusting people I shouldn’t have trusted and not following my gut. However, I think the obstacles and the struggles make success so much sweeter!

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a musician but more importantly a songwriter. I take pride in writing great songs that get in your head but also inspire. Catchy stories if you will. I have a music video for my new single Creating Dying Life coming out this summer and an EP in September so be on the lookout for that!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The characteristic/quality that is most important to my success is my ability to network, hold on to relationships and keep things positive! I may forget a name but I’ll never forget a face!
