Meet David Port of Port Design Company in Virginia Highland

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Port.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Port Design Company roughly in 2015 working on a bunch of projects for friends and family. Over the past few years, I have seen my business increase from friends to businesses and high schools. I am still working full time at IMG College Licensing and managing my own business on the side. I would love to find more meaningful clients in the next few months dealing with logo design and brand development.

My biggest project to date is doing a full athletic rebrand of a local school, Westminster. I was pretty excited to land the project and it gave me the confidence to pursue other businesses that could use the same the same services.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I have had a tough time finding the right meaningful clients that I enjoy working with. I don’t have a huge client list so the steady income is hard to come by.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Port Design Company – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Port Design Company is a creative agency based in Atlanta, Georgia. We specialize in branding, logo design, creative services and brand strategy.

Port Design Company’s mission is to elevate brands with thoughtful design and strategic research.

I am most proud of achieving a successful rebrand of Westminster and their students and faculty love the new brand.

I used to play baseball at Appalachian State University and as a result, I have a better understanding of sports design and how it relates to players, coaches and fans. I don’t know many agencies that have a background in playing sports as well as designing.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is a very diverse city with a ton of creative flexibility.

Traffic is what I like least about Atlanta haha.
