Meet Professional Photographer & CEO of Noire3000: James C. Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to James C. Lewis.

James C., please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am originally from a small town called Statesboro, Georgia. Upon graduating from High School I moved to Atlanta to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta where I graduated with a degree in Visual Communications with a concentration in Illustration. Worked in Corporate America for 10year before launching out on my own and starting my business Noire3000 | N3K Photo Studios in 2008.

I started shooting professionally at age 16 while in High School. I was a member of the school newspaper and yearbook staff. However my love of photography started at age 9 while watching my Dad take pictures and realizing that was something that intrigued me.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road is much smoother now than when I began. Some of the struggles I faced earlier were trying to get people to take me seriously as a professional photographer. As I previously stated…I started out on my photography journey at age 16 while in High School shooting for my school newspaper and shooting weddings & other events on the side. Once I graduated from college, it was a little easier being that I was 21 and held a degree to back up the title.

What role has luck had in your life and career?
I don’t believe in luck or good fortune. I believe things are divinely ordained and predestined by God….what is meant to be will be and whatever doors that have been opened for me is seen as FAVOR…not luck. I can most assuredly say that my success thus far has most definitely been the amazing favor of God!!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The quality or characteristic that I personally feel is most important to my success is staying true to who I am and what I believe in.

What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
What I like best about Atlanta is our rich heritage of being the birthplace of the Civil Rights movement. What I like least about it is this FREAKIN TRAFFIC…LOL!!!!
