Meet Destiny Bell of Pasilor in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Bell.

Destiny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My love for fashion started in middle school and developed simultaneously with my passion for music. Growing up, I would watch MTV music videos in the morning while I got dressed for school. I loved getting lost in the music and playing with the idea that I could be whoever I wanted to be when I put my clothes on. I didn’t have to be the shy girl with the glasses. I could be as outlandish and eccentric as I wanted to. I would emulate the styles I saw my favorite artists wear and add my flare to it (I was in LOVE with wearing ribbons and bows on my hair at the time.)

As I grew older, the opinions of others began to bother me. I didn’t have a lot of friends because I was odd, and I wanted to change it. I erased what felt right to me and let society shape me. I completely lost touch with myself, and it subjected me to become victim to situations I could have avoided.

My sophomore year of college was a breaking point for me. I decided that I would no longer stand in the shadows and allow my life to pass on. I took a chance and applied for a position as an assistant to a Fashion and Entertainment Journalist, and the chips fell in my favor. Her story and strength inspired me; It made me feel like I could do those things that people always told me were impossible for me to achieve. About a month later, I started my blog and got to work.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve learned so much about myself along this journey. I noticed how quickly I allow situations to get the best of me, and I’ve noticed how easy it is to get behind if you’re not focused.

Most of all, I’ve noticed that those mishaps aren’t static characteristics of who you are. You have the power to shift any circumstance in your life, but it starts with YOU. You have to decide that you’re going to put in the needed effort to achieve.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pasilor – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Pasilor is a fashion magazine dedicated to discovering emerging designers and creatives. We love writing articles on hidden gems across the globe dominating in the areas of art, fashion, and music.

Pasilor admires the free-spirited. We commend those who aren’t afraid to throw their faces and talent into the world. We enjoy sharing the work of newfound artists and connecting individuals through storytelling. I’m proud that my company is able to serve as a connecting bridge for those near and far.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that Atlanta is such an open book! This city doesn’t judge people; you can literally come here and live your wildest dreams! Maybe even find a few friends along the way to live out those dreams with you.

We have amazing organizations like RAGTRADE Atlanta that support our designers in every way imaginable through their outreach. They’re even hosting Atlanta’s first Fashion Week in August 2020.

To be honest, I love Atlanta the traffic and all.
