Meet Diana Uribe of Bellaful Photography in Lawrenceville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Uribe.

Diana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, my interest in photography began in high school but I didn’t learn much about photography until college when one of my best friends, Rachel Bullard, taught me. Before I even owned a camera, I used my phone to take pictures. I would go out with my cousin and take pictures of everything around me. Once I got a camera, I took it everywhere and took pictures of everything I could find. Now I spend most of my time scheduling photo shoots, learning new skills, and trying to improve my skills and techniques.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to anything worth having is hardly ever smooth, there will always be obstacles. The biggest obstacle for me right now is my schedule. I currently have a lot of things on my plate. I am a student, I work part-time at my job, I am the secretary for a nonprofit called House of Grace Ministries Inc., I manage the media and website for House of Grace, I serve at my church, and I am a budding YouTuber. Sometimes my schedule is a bit overwhelming but I know that God has a plan and a purpose for me, so I do the best that I can with what I have been given.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bellaful Photography – what should we know?
Bellaful Photography is a photography business. It is still very new and trying to get off the ground. I do everything from personal photoshoots, gender reveals, events, landscape, product photography and more. I think what sets me apart from others, and what I am most proud of, are my values. What’s important to me is the happiness and the satisfaction of the people I take pictures of and the people I take pictures for. I am satisfied once my clients are satisfied. I want to make sure that when they look at a picture of themselves that they love what they see and that they see the beauty others can clearly see already.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Determination, passion, and bravery. I think it is important to love and believe in what you’re doing. Things are going to get rough and they may not always turn out the way you want, but loving what you do makes it a whole lot easier. If you enjoy what you are doing, then all you need is the determination and the drive to get to where you want to be. It’s okay to take a break, but if you don’t have the drive to pursue it, then you might just end up giving up on your dreams. It’s also important for me to be brave and do things that are out of my comfort zone. All of these things are important to my success, as well as the way that I define success.  I define success as loving what I do, being brave enough to go after it, and being determined enough to fight for it till the end. If I do all of this, I think I have succeeded.”
