Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Shepherd.
Dominique, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started acting in 2016 after doing a play with my childhood friend and created my own internet talk show… I moved to Georgia in 2017 and got introduced to the film and television industry. Since then, I’ve been working in the industry
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been a struggle since I had no knowledge of what I was doing at first. Thanks to the people I’ve met over time and the research I’ve done it’s gotten easier. It’s still a struggle but I know how to navigate it a lot better.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an Actor from Detroit, MI. I’m mainly working in the film and television side. I’m slowly working towards becoming a content creator. I’ve worked on Stranger Things, Bettor Days on ESPN+, ATL Homicide, and a few other things. Most of my friends and family know me from my role as a pallbearer in the movie The Hate U Give. I’m most proud of the fact that I’m still working towards my dream of becoming a consistently working actor. It’s been almost five years and I’m still focused and working towards it after everything I’ve been through. The thing that sets me apart from others is my drive. The “Mamba Mentality” is a real thing. I want to be great and I refuse to let anybody outwork me.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My stubbornness to never give up. It’s a constant fight to make sure I’m doing whatever I can to be successful. No matter how hard or impossible things may seem. No matter how bad I want to quit. I’m just too stubborn to do so.
