Today we’d like to introduce you to Dope DJ.
Dope, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started rapping & making music in 2016, releasing 3 projects “What A Dope Summer” (2016) “SupremeDope” (2017) & “WorldWide Dope”(2018) gearing up for my 4 projects “Dope Boy Shawty” (June 14th, 2019). Moving & networking through Atlanta trying to get heard, & recently started YouTubing earlier this year which has been going pretty well.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worth having ever goes smooth or planned, of course, you’re gonna get told No, people are going to sleep on you, but you gotta keep going and never give up on yourself. Make people believe
Please tell us about what you do.
I’m an artist & Youtuber. Artist first, rapping is my passion, and what I’m known for, doing shows in the local area for a few years now, when people hear “DOPE!” They already know what it is, what sets me apart is my flow patterns, subject matter, beat selection, and style, in Atlanta everyone pretty much sounds and raps the same, about the same things, I’m coming with a little different flavor.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would focus on branding myself more, branding is definitely key and ideal for anything you want to do, people should always like the person you are before you try selling them something, they have to first like you and then believe in you.
